VTS Opinion of Use:Hard to find! This is a Fox Folding Portable which is sometimes called a Baby Fox. First introduced in 1917, it was a quality portable typewriter. Actually, all Fox typewriters are of higher quality. It was soon pulled from the market due to claims that it infringed on Corona Typewriter patents. It's thought that less than 9000 were produced. I purchased this one several years ago from a well known New England collector. I recently bought one from a collector in Florida in slightly better condition so this one is now back up for sale. One in lesser condition sold on ebay for over $1200 a few months back. With all the shill bidding going on with ebay typewriter "dealers" and sellers, it's difficult to know what scarce typewriters are really selling for in todays market! Anyway, I had to do little to this one as it came to me in excellent, clean and working condition. I have added a new ribbon and given it a light cleaning and oiling. I have enjoyed having it displayed in my home and it will make a fine addition to any collection. Definitely not for regular use.
