VTS Opinion of Use:Interesting custom/experimental paper bail! The paper bail(not used on pre-1943 Remington portables)is the first thing I noticed about this particular machine. Not sure of the origins, but it definitely improves the typing and print quality. Keeping the paper tight to the platen, this paper bail is spring loaded and works great. The rollers are from a more modern(1950's) Olivetti. Not sure which model but it doesn't matter. Anyway, it's a benefit to any writer and you won't see another like it! It's also removable for those that prefer complete originality. This is a quality job though! You will be hard pressed to find another model 1 in this condition! Worthy of any collection! Perfect for casual writing or personal correspondence. The entire machine has been through the 3 hour process of cleaning, oiling, adjusting and testing.
