While there has been a huge increase in chromed and re-painted vintage typewriters appearing for sale on eBay over the past decade, this one is the real deal. The chrome has moderate patina, the paint has standard wear, but the decal and mechanics are solid. It's a beautiful machine! The case is also something of a rare find. Dark brown, faux alligator with a tan interior. The only issue is one of the front interior lock tabs has broken off at some point in it's life. It's a non-issue as there are three other locks to make sure it remains in place during transport. According to the relative of the original owner, this was a customer order graduation gift from her (original owner) father. I don't have any other information on it.
